Early voting opportunities for all eligible residents across Volusia County are set to begin on Monday, October 19. This marks the commencement of the official early voting period, providing citizens with an initial chance to cast their ballots well in advance of the general Election Day.
Throughout this dedicated early voting window, polling locations will be accessible to voters daily from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. This schedule will remain consistent every day, offering ten hours of access, up to and including Saturday, October 31st. Following the conclusion of this early voting period, the official Election Day is scheduled for Tuesday, November 3rd, when all remaining eligible voters can cast their votes.
Voters who reside in Ormond Beach will find specific local races appearing on their ballots. These include the contests for the Ormond Beach City Commission for both Zone 2 and Zone 4. It is important for these voters to note that participation in these particular city commission races is restricted. Only those individuals who are officially registered residents within either Zone 2 or Zone 4 are eligible to cast a ballot in their respective zone's election.
Similarly, citizens residing in Daytona Beach will also encounter local city commission races when they head to the polls. These include choices for a commissioner to represent Zone 1 and another for Zone 3. Consistent with the rules in Ormond Beach, only residents who live within Zone 1 or Zone 3 are permitted to vote in their specific zone's commission race.
Beyond these localized city commission contests, all voters within both Ormond Beach and Daytona Beach are also eligible to participate in a broader county-wide election. They will have the opportunity to cast a vote for an at-large representative position on the Volusia County Council, a decision that impacts the entire county.
For convenience, Volusia County voters are not limited to a single designated polling place during the early voting period. Any eligible voter has the flexibility to cast their ballot at any of the designated Early Voting sites located throughout the county. This provision is intended to make participation more accessible for all residents.
