Charleen Davis, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend known for her profound compassion and unwavering faith, passed away on October 22, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on August 7, 1936, in Wheeling, West Virginia, Ms. Davis lived a life dedicated to the needs of others and her deep love for the Lord. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, October 30, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Church on the Drive, located at 1914 Edgewater Dr., Orlando, FL 32804, with visitation beginning an hour prior at 3:00 p.m.
Ms. Davis is survived by her four children and their spouses: Dr. Charles Davis (Barbara), Sharon Jones (Kim), Scott Davis (Darlene), and Chris Davis (Tracy). She also leaves behind fifteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, along with numerous friends and community members who were fortunate to have known her. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles E. Davis, who passed away on September 3, 2005, and her siblings, William C. Church, Robert R. Church, Mary E. Lewis, and Ralph E. Church.
Her kindness was boundless, making everyone she met feel loved and cared for. Whether through a kind word, offering a helping hand, or a heartfelt prayer, Ms. Davis consistently prioritized the needs of others. Her compassion extended beyond her immediate family, touching countless lives within her church and the broader community. This extended even to “God’s smallest creatures,” as she faithfully fed the birds and squirrels visiting her yard each morning and kept treats ready for neighborhood dogs. These small visitors held a special place in her heart, reflecting her belief that no act of kindness was too small, and no creature too insignificant to deserve it.
The family expressed their profound gratitude to Ms. Davis’s dedicated caregivers: Kim, Michon, Michelle, Claudia, Carey, Destiny, and Debbie, described as a friend and personal angel. Their patience and gentle care provided comfort and dignity during her final chapter, holding a special and unforgettable place in her life.
A faithful servant of God, Ms. Davis dedicated a significant portion of her life to giving back through her church, Church on the Drive, formerly known as College Park Baptist Church. Her devotion to Christ was evident not just in her words, but in her actions, as she embodied selfless service.
Above all, Ms. Davis cherished her family, serving as an enduring source of unconditional love, strength, and comfort. Her legacy, the family stated, is not measured by years, but by the countless hearts she touched and the lives she forever changed. While her absence will be deeply felt in quiet moments and family gatherings, the family finds comfort in knowing she is reunited with her beloved husband and family. The family expressed comfort in the thought of a beautiful homecoming, where they are all together again, welcomed into the presence of her Heavenly Father.
Her work on earth is finished, but the love she gave and the lives she touched will live on forever. The family noted their belief that the woman who spent her life loving and serving the Lord is now resting peacefully in His presence.
